IV.       Old Business:

            A.  Fund Raising Committee – Varacalli

There are several ideas for improvements for the campus ministry kitchen which is out of date.  Two of the ideas is asking Lowes to possibly lower the price or donating as well as mom and pop shops exchanging appliances for advertising on campus.  Since this is for campus ministry, local perishes might be able to help fundraise by taking up a second collection for example.  The price for a total refurbishing of the kitchen will be over $1,000.  Vish’s father works for a refrigerator company and could possibly donate one.

V.        New Business:

Food Committee Report – Dugas and Torres

The committee went around and asked students what type of changes they wanted to see.  The changes ranged from food being hot, having more chicken nuggets, and to have more simple food.  Chartwells will do their best to accommodate.  The results from Chartwells new policies show that the water saved will save $10,000 a year and the amount of food wasted per person is .5 lbs.  A new question was raised to have money roll over from flex dollars or to use a combination of cash with flex dollars.  Chartwells refuses to budge on the tray issue.

White Water Center – Wagner

The school is trying to set up a deal with the white water center for students to be able to go on various days to the center for free along with the school providing transportation.  The day(s) best thought to have this service would most likely be on the weekend.  Another possibility would be to have an activity rotation instead of free reign over any activity.

Christmas Parade – Robinson

The Belmont chamber of commerce host a Christmas Parade every year.  Robinson believes that SGA should try and help get Belmont Abbey out into the community more.  CAB is already looking into having a float, so SGA might be able to team up with CAB to make a real float possible instead of just carrying a banner. Faithful Daughters – Christine Basil       Faithful Daughters is petitioning for $25 per car (5 cars) to help alleviate some of the cost for their retreat next week.  The max amount that they are asking for is $125.  The retreat is focused on prayer and reflection.  The members for this retreat consist of the older members and this retreat will work to build strong bonds and community.  The SGA would be able to reimburse them for costs up to $125 instead of passing out a straight check for the sum. Vote: Appropriation of $125 for Reimbursement

                        Yes 16, No 0, Abstain 0

VI.       Cab Report:

            A.  80’s night was held last week and it was a success.  Laser tag is taking place tonight in the quad.  On the 22nd of November there will be a grilling contest.

VII.     Announcements:             SGA meeting is 11/19/08.

Adjournment occurred at 5:39 P.M.
