Orientation is almost here!
Everyone at the Abbey is working diligently to prepare campus for the arrival of the incoming class of 2012.
During Orientation you will receive vital information about college life and more specifically college life at the Abbey. We ask that everyone attend all of the sessions, even your parents have sessions.
Here is some information about move-in and orientation that you can use to plan your trips:
Move-in for all new BAC Students is Friday, August 22nd. Please come to the Haid Ballroom to check in first! You WILL NOT be able to receive the key to your residence hall room until you have completed the check-in process.
If you last name begins with A-M we ask that you arrive between 9am & 11am.
If your last name begins with N-Z we ask that you arrive between 11am & 1pm.
Check-in for all Commuter Students is 1pm-2pm.
There will be a Welcome by the President of the College in the Wheeler Center at 2:30pm. This is for all new students (Freshman, Transfers, & Commuter) and their parents. After the welcome, parents and student will divide into separate sessions designed specifically for each group.
Parents and students will have sessions all afternoon and some into the evening. Dinner will be provided by Chartwell’s Dining Service in the Student Commons that evening.
For parents, there will be a reception at 8pm that evening in the Student Commons. Tell your parents not to miss this as they will have a chance to mingle with the President of the College and his Executive staff, as well as a number of the faculty, staff & monks.
On Saturday, August 23rd we will have a hot breakfast in the Student Commons from 7:30am – 8:45am.
Sessions will begin for parents & students around 9:00am. Check your schedule when you arrive for specific locations.
There will be a campus wide mass offered at 11:00am in the Basilica. All are encouraged to attend, regardless of their faith. It is truly a community building experience.
Following mass, freshmen will have one last meal with their parents before they depart. There will be a Farewell Luncheon in the Student Commons at 12 p.m.
