Responsibilities and Qualifications
The College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Entrepreneurship beginning August, 2012. A PhD in Business/Entrepreneurship or a related field and undergraduate teaching experience are required. Additionally, related expertise in marketing, business law, and/or management would be preferred. Related business experience would also be appropriate. Responsibilities include management of the Abbey’s emerging Entrepreneurship academic program; classroom teaching of both day and evening classes; student advising; and the development of industry and community relationships. A four course per semester teaching load, a continuing record of scholarly development and support of the College’s mission is expected. A familiarity with and understanding of the Catholic Intellectual Tradition and of the liberal arts are desirable. In order to ensure consistency of academic content across all College delivery channels, close coordination with the Adult Degree Program (ADP) and adjunct faculty is required. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's credentials and experience.
Located ten minutes west of Charlotte, North Carolina, Belmont Abbey College is a Catholic, Benedictine school that educates a diverse student body in the liberal arts and sciences.
