Belmont Abbey College is currently seeking qualified applications to fill the position of Data Entry Specialist in the Adult Degree Program (ADP) Office. Under the direction of the Director of Adult Degree Program or his/her designee, the Data Entry Specialist enters inquiry and application data, ensures applications are properly processed, runs daily scheduled actions, downloads online applications, maintains inventories of office supplies and information packets, answers office phones, and greets visitors.
The incumbent must possess strong oral and written communication skills while exhibiting good spelling, punctuation, and grammar. The incumbent must be able to oversee multiple tasks and projects with the ability to work and think independently. The incumbent must be customer service driven.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, preferably a two year or four year college degree, with a minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an office setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are required along with strong accurate data entry skills. Knowledge of PowerCampus is a plus. The work environment is an office setting which requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and the ability to work until 6:00pm, one evening until 7:00pm and occasional Saturday shifts.
Overall Objectives
The ADP Office Data Entry Specialist maintains efficient flow of inquiries, applications, and other important data. The Data Entry Specialist ensures ADP staff is kept well informed of application processing, maintains office supply inventory, and performs administrative tasks.
- Answers, screens, and refers telephone calls and visitors to appropriate person and ensures coverage at all times.
- Processes new applications, enters data into PowerCampus, and creates files for applicants.
- Runs daily scheduled actions of communications
- Responds to inquiries and mails out information packets.
- Schedules, coordinates and confirms appointments for counselors
- Supervises the assembly of materials for major events and routine inquiry responses, assists with assembly when required.
- Maintains office supplies.
- Assists with other departmental events such as Advising and Registration Sessions, Information Sessions, Registration, Financial Aid Workshops, and New Student/Faculty Orientations.
- Assists Director of ADP with major events and planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
