Advising The low student-faculty ratio at Belmont Abbey College fosters collaboration and discussion, and so faculty in general see themselves as academic advisors to students. But within the whole body of faculty, students each have a member of the faculty as their own academic advisor. The advisor's role is to help the student in selecting courses, in choosing a major, and to serve as a resource for the full range of academic issues that a student may face.
