Belmont Abbey Gets Ready To Show Some Green
College’s Alumni, Friends To Participate in St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations in Charlotte, NYC
BELMONT, NC --- It has become an Abbey tradition that runs as deep as shamrocks and kissing the blarney stone. This year hundreds of friends, staff and alumni of Belmont Abbey College are expected celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with an annual march in both Charlotte, North Carolina and in New York City this week.
The 9 th Annual Charlotte St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival begins at 10:30 AM on Sunday, March 18, 2006 on the corner of Stonewall and Tryon Streets in front of the Charlotte Observer building in Charlotte.

Meanwhile, Abbey alums Jim Kirby ’83 and Hank Steincke ’63 will hold festivities in New York City. Abbey participants will meet for a pre-parade warm-up at the Hotel Roosevelt located on 45 th Street and Madison Avenue at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 17, 2006. The lineup will begin at 3:00 PM on East 48 th Street, between Madison and Park Avenues. A post-parade celebration will follow at Club Quarters.
