Federal Pell Grant Federal Pell Grant

The Pell Grant is a federal entitlement program that provides funds to students enrolled at approved post secondary educational institutions. The Estimated Family Contribution number on the Student Aid Report (SAR) determines the amount of each grant. This information is generated through the Department of Education and is mailed to the applicant at his/her home address.

Eligibility

  • If you are enrolled as regular student in an eligible program; and
  • If you are a U.S. citizen or are in the United States as a permanent resident with proper documentation and
  • If you have never received an undergraduate bachelor’s degree; and
  • If you do not owe a refund on a Pell Grant, Supplemental Grant or Student Incentive Grant received to meet the cost of attending any institution and
  • If you are not in default on any Perkins/National Direct Student Loan, Federal Stafford Loan, Supplemental Loan or PLUS Loan received to meet the cost of attending any institution and
  • If you are in compliance with the Selective Service Registration requirements.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

The Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant program is a federal non-repayable program that provides money to a limited number of undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. Supplemental grants range from $200 to $4000 per academic year depending on your need and availability of funds.

Federal Pell Grant, Federal Perkins Loan, Federal SEOG, Federal Stafford Loans and Federal Direct Student Loans may be awarded to students participating in a Study Abroad Program if the college approves such a program.
